The first conference on positive organizational scholarship (POS) was held at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in December 2001, just as this important new field of study was coming into being. Since then, the Center for POS has hosted conferences of POS scholars from around the world in 2003, 2006, and 2008. We were thrilled to host the fifth conference of POS scholars as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Center for POS, as well as the upcoming publication of the Oxford Handbook of Positive Organizational Scholarship in mid-2011. The primary goals of the conference were to summarize 10 years of research, share empirical findings, and help develop a research agenda for the future. The conference brought together almost 90 of the world’s leading scholars doing POS research, many of whom contributed to the Handbook of POS. The conference facilitated the discussion of new and ongoing research projects, fueled new collaborations, and may generate scholarly symposia. The conference helped to strengthen the worldwide community of scholars interested in positive organizational scholarship.
